The arena shooter is probably the greatest genre ever invented. There have been shooters with people (NaaC) and even with circles (Mono) - It seems so logical now, that nobody has used a car as the protagonist.

Yes, in this game you drive the deadly arena with weapons strapped to your roof, firing off infinite rounds into slimy strange pulsating glow worms. There are the usual assortment of weapons - minigun being your default. Others include the shotgun, pulse cannon, rocket launcher and always a favourite - the flamethrower. Surprisingly, there is a weapon here which is challenging my perception of the flamethrower as the best weapon ever - in Debrysis you can pick up a weapon which fires - perhaps five or eight - rockets in different directions off your car at the same time. It's insanity, I tell you.

The summation of the game wouldn't be complete if it was just a rundown of the weapons and a guarantee of manic, awesome shooterness - but that's all there is really and its oh so fun. Depth can be added when you realise your score increases by itself, but in many-fold when you start killing. Score multipliers can be picked up and even weapon intensifiers can be collected.

I could go on about how fun this game is, how amazing it looks and how great it plays, but the short straw is - you really need to experience it. The feel of the car is something special - the fact that your rocket blasts can bump you off walls. The pick-up which launches rockets across the screen - the fact that one pick-up is a meteor strike! I could go on, but the fact is you need to play it to get it. And when you do, its really something grand.
